The Jasper Picture Company

Building a shared visual language

Friends and long-time collaborators at The Jasper Picture Company engaged NINJA video house to assist with the launch of ACAMI (the Australian Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Medical Innovation) at La Trobe University.

The project combined a traditional talking head video, large-format animation and an interactive event experience. Although each element served a different purpose, they all needed to feel like they belonged to the same story.

Working from an early draft script and visual references provided by the client, storyboards and animation concepts were developed in collaboration with Gayangana Amarasena to establish a visual language for the project.

The primary animation was designed to accompany The Jasper Picture Company's talking head video and delivered in an unconventional 10:3 aspect ratio for a large-format event display. Alongside this, attendees could explore additional content through an interactive experience featuring animated sequences, interactive graphics and user-driven navigation.

Collaboration with Revontulet Studio helped extend that visual language into the interactive component, with bespoke animation assets designed to create a seamless experience across every touchpoint of the launch.

The final result demonstrates how thoughtful collaboration can help a single idea move naturally across multiple formats while remaining visually consistent.

The completed interactive video is available to La Trobe University only.
