Heng Design

Bringing great design into motion

Great design often invites you to imagine what comes next.

This project began with a simple challenge. Nick Heng had created a body of work he was incredibly proud of, but much of it existed only in print. There was no footage to include in a showreel because the work had never been commissioned as video in the first place.

Rather than simply animating existing designs, each piece was approached as though it had been commissioned by the original client as a video project. The question became: if this brand existed in motion, what would that look like?

Before the final showreel could be created, nine individual pieces of content were produced. Six were animated in collaboration with Gayangana Amarasena, two were filmed as live-action productions, and one was the Cut the Tux animation created for Imbue Distillery. Each mini project required its own creative approach while remaining true to the original design work.

The final showreel brings those individual pieces together into a single body of work, demonstrating how thoughtful motion design can extend and complement an existing visual identity rather than simply reproducing it.
