Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB)
Supporting music education through thoughtful production
Educational content asks something different of production. The objective isn't simply to hold a viewer's attention. It's to help them understand.
Across multiple years, video content was produced for the Australian Music Examinations Board's Grade Four, Grade Five and Grade Six Theory courses, helping students engage with increasingly complex music theory concepts through presenter-led lessons, musical examples and on-screen notation.
Working from scripts provided by AMEB, production focused on creating a learning experience that felt clear and approachable for students. The same presenter was used across all three courses, providing continuity for students while communicating specialised terminology and musical concepts naturally and confidently on camera.
During post-production, spoken explanations were carefully paired with musical examples and visual notation, ensuring each lesson remained easy to follow as concepts became increasingly complex.
Collectively, the courses comprise hours of educational content delivered across dozens of individual lessons. Grade Six Theory alone consists of sixteen individual lessons spanning more than two hours of educational material. More importantly, the project demonstrates the care required when producing content designed not simply to be watched, but to be understood.
